DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN CASABLANCA → RABAT
Your tour begins with a warm reception at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca. Our local guide will greet you to ensure a seamless start. The first stop is the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, an architectural marvel boasting detailed tile work and one of the tallest minarets globally, set against the ocean. From there, you will drive to the lively capital of Rabat to explore historical treasures like the Hassan Tower and the captivating Oudayas Kasbah. You will be dropped off at your Rabat accommodation for a restful overnight stay (If arriving late at night, you will overnight in Casablanca instead).
DAY 2: RABAT → CHEFCHAOUEN
After breakfast, enjoy a scenic four-hour drive through the rolling hills and charming villages of the Rif Mountains to reach Chefchaouen. Upon arrival, check in at your riad and spend your leisure time exploring the city’s enchanting blue maze-like streets. DAY 3: CHEFCHAOUEN → VOLUBILIS → MEKNES → FES
Following a delicious Riad breakfast, the journey heads south through the serene Moroccan countryside to Volubilis. Here, you’ll explore well-preserved mosaics and ancient ruins dating back to the 3rd century. The route then takes you to Meknes, Morocco’s 17th-century capital, to see the magnificent Bab el Mansour gate and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. After lunch and cultural immersion, you will continue to Fes, checking into a splendid riad for the night.
DAY 4: FULL DAY GUIDED DISCOVERY OF FES
Today is dedicated to exploring Fes with a friendly local guide. Begin at the golden gates of the Royal Palace before navigating the UNESCO-listed old Medina. You’ll uncover iconic landmarks such as Al-Qarawiyyin University, Al-Attarine Madrasa, the Nejjarine Fountain, and the famous Chouara Tanneries. Explore the historical Jewish quarter (the Mellah) and conclude the day at an ancient fortress for a panoramic view of the city’s grandeur. Overnight at your riad in Fes.
DAY 5: FES → IFRANE → MIDDLE ATLAS → ZIZ VALLEY → MERZOUGA DESERT
Prepare for an enchanting travel day. First, visit the picturesque city of Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Continue through the awe-inspiring Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in a lush cedar forest to observe wild Barbary apes. After lunch, the drive follows the stunning, palm-lined Ziz Valley all the way to the Merzouga Desert. In the late afternoon, embark on an authentic camel caravan into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, pausing to watch an awe-inspiring sunset. Arrive at your luxury desert camp for a delectable traditional dinner and an evening of vibrant Berber music around the bonfire.
DAY 6: IMMERSIVE EXPLORATION OF THE MERZOUGA DESERT
Wake up early for a breathtaking desert sunrise, followed by breakfast. You can return to Merzouga town via camel or 4×4. The day’s adventure includes a visit to Khamlia village to experience soulful, traditional Gnawa music. You’ll then go off-road to the abandoned Galena mines of M’Fis before visiting a nomadic Berber family in their traditional tents for tea and cultural exchange. After a free lunch, relax by a riad pool. In the afternoon, opt for quad biking, buggy driving, or simply wandering the dunes. Dinner and overnight at a beautiful desert riad.
DAY 7: MERZOUGA → RISSANI → TODRA GORGE → DADES GORGE
After breakfast, the journey continues west. Your first stop is the traditional market town of Rissani. The drive then takes you to the towering, picturesque Todra Gorge, where you can take a leisurely walk amidst its dramatic red cliffs. Later in the afternoon, you will head to the Dades Gorge to witness stunning rock formations and breathtaking valley vistas. Dinner and overnight in the Dades region.
DAY 8: DADES GORGE → OUARZAZATE → AIT BEN HADDOU → MARRAKECH
Following breakfast, travel through the Valley of the Roses and the Skoura palm oasis. Arrive in Ouarzazate, the cinematic “Gateway to the Desert,” before heading to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, a famous fortified kasbah used in countless global films. DAY 11: ESSAOUIRA → CASABLANCA
After breakfast and a final morning breathing in the fresh coastal air, begin your scenic drive back up the Atlantic coast toward Casablanca. Enjoy the transitioning landscapes and make strategic stops along the way. Arrive in Casablanca in the late afternoon to relax and prepare for your departure. Overnight in Casablanca.
DAY 12: DEPARTURE FROM CASABLANCA
After breakfast, enjoy any remaining free time in the city depending on your flight schedule. Your private driver will transfer you to Mohammed V International Airport for your onward journey, marking the end of a magical 12-day Moroccan adventure. End of the tour.
