DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN CASABLANCA → RABAT
Welcome to Morocco! Your week-long adventure begins with a personal meet-and-greet at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca. Your dedicated guide will escort you directly to the spectacular Hassan II Mosque. As one of the largest mosques globally, boasting the second-tallest minaret in the world, you will be amazed by its exquisite tile work, carved marble, and majestic oceanfront setting.
Following this, the journey proceeds to Rabat, Morocco’s capital city. Here, you will discover the city’s rich history by visiting the iconic Hassan Tower and exploring the beautiful Oudayas Kasbah. The day concludes with a drop-off at your riad or hotel in Rabat to rest and prepare for the days ahead. DAY 2: RABAT → CHEFCHAOUEN
After enjoying breakfast at your Rabat accommodation, we set off towards the Rif Mountains in northern Morocco. The scenic drive takes roughly four hours, winding through picturesque villages and rolling green hills before arriving at the enchanting town of Chefchaouen.
Once you check into your riad or hotel, the rest of the day is yours to explore at your own pace. Famous for its striking blue-washed architecture, Chefchaouen is a photographer’s paradise. Wander through the narrow, vibrant alleys of the old medina, browse the lively local souks for unique handicrafts, and relax at a local cafe while savoring authentic Moroccan cuisine.
DAY 3: CHEFCHAOUEN → VOLUBILIS → MEKNES → FES
Following breakfast, we leave the blue city behind and enjoy a beautiful drive through the Rif countryside. Our first major stop is Volubilis, a sprawling complex of beautifully preserved ancient Roman ruins. Next, we journey to the 17th-century imperial city of Meknes. You will begin at the grand Royal Palace gates before diving into the mesmerizing, maze-like streets of the medieval Medina, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Throughout the day, you will visit highly significant landmarks, including the historic Al-Qarawiyyin University, the beautifully adorned Al-Attarine Madrasa, the Nejjarine fountain, and the iconic Chouara Tanneries. The tour also includes a stroll through the Mellah (the historic Jewish quarter) to learn about the local Jewish heritage. Finally, you will take in sweeping panoramic views of the entire Fes medina from an ancient hillside fortress before returning to your riad for the evening.
DAY 5: FES → IFRANE → MIDDLE ATLAS MOUNTAINS → ZIZ VALLEY → MERZOUGA DESERT
After breakfast, we depart Fes and head south toward the Sahara Desert. Our first pause is in Ifrane, a charming town often referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco” due to its alpine architecture. We then venture into the lush cedar forests of the Middle Atlas Mountains, where you will have the chance to spot wild Barbary macaque apes in their natural habitat.
Following a lunch stop on the road, the landscape transforms as we drive through the spectacular Ziz Valley, celebrated for its expansive date palm oases. By the afternoon, we reach Merzouga. Here, you will trade your vehicle for a traditional camel caravan, trekking across the towering Erg Chebbi dunes.
