Tour ITINERARY

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN CASABLANCA → RABAT

Welcome to Morocco! Your week-long adventure begins with a personal meet-and-greet at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca. Your dedicated guide will escort you directly to the spectacular Hassan II Mosque. As one of the largest mosques globally, boasting the second-tallest minaret in the world, you will be amazed by its exquisite tile work, carved marble, and majestic oceanfront setting.

Following this, the journey proceeds to Rabat, Morocco’s capital city. Here, you will discover the city’s rich history by visiting the iconic Hassan Tower and exploring the beautiful Oudayas Kasbah. The day concludes with a drop-off at your riad or hotel in Rabat to rest and prepare for the days ahead. (Note: If your flight arrives late at night, you will be transferred directly to a Casablanca hotel to rest before starting the tour the next morning).

DAY 2: RABAT → CHEFCHAOUEN

After enjoying breakfast at your Rabat accommodation, we set off towards the Rif Mountains in northern Morocco. The scenic drive takes roughly four hours, winding through picturesque villages and rolling green hills before arriving at the enchanting town of Chefchaouen.

Once you check into your riad or hotel, the rest of the day is yours to explore at your own pace. Famous for its striking blue-washed architecture, Chefchaouen is a photographer’s paradise. Wander through the narrow, vibrant alleys of the old medina, browse the lively local souks for unique handicrafts, and relax at a local cafe while savoring authentic Moroccan cuisine.

DAY 3: CHEFCHAOUEN → VOLUBILIS → MEKNES → FES

Following breakfast, we leave the blue city behind and enjoy a beautiful drive through the Rif countryside. Our first major stop is Volubilis, a sprawling complex of beautifully preserved ancient Roman ruins. Dating back to the 3rd century, this archaeological site offers a fascinating look into Roman life, complete with stunning mosaic floors and grand public buildings.

Next, we journey to the 17th-century imperial city of Meknes. After a lunch break, you will explore the walled medina, which features the breathtaking Bab el Mansour gate—renowned for its intricate carvings and detailed zellij tilework. You will also visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail before continuing the drive to Fes, where you will spend the night in a beautiful traditional riad.

DAY 4: FULL DAY GUIDED TOUR OF FES

Today is entirely dedicated to uncovering the cultural and spiritual heart of Morocco. After breakfast, a knowledgeable local guide will lead you on a comprehensive tour of Fes. You will begin at the grand Royal Palace gates before diving into the mesmerizing, maze-like streets of the medieval Medina, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Throughout the day, you will visit highly significant landmarks, including the historic Al-Qarawiyyin University, the beautifully adorned Al-Attarine Madrasa, the Nejjarine fountain, and the iconic Chouara Tanneries. The tour also includes a stroll through the Mellah (the historic Jewish quarter) to learn about the local Jewish heritage. Finally, you will take in sweeping panoramic views of the entire Fes medina from an ancient hillside fortress before returning to your riad for the evening.

DAY 5: FES → IFRANE → MIDDLE ATLAS MOUNTAINS → ZIZ VALLEY → MERZOUGA DESERT

After breakfast, we depart Fes and head south toward the Sahara Desert. Our first pause is in Ifrane, a charming town often referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco” due to its alpine architecture. We then venture into the lush cedar forests of the Middle Atlas Mountains, where you will have the chance to spot wild Barbary macaque apes in their natural habitat.

Following a lunch stop on the road, the landscape transforms as we drive through the spectacular Ziz Valley, celebrated for its expansive date palm oases. By the afternoon, we reach Merzouga. Here, you will trade your vehicle for a traditional camel caravan, trekking across the towering Erg Chebbi dunes. After pausing on a high dune to witness a magical golden sunset, you will arrive at your luxury desert camp. Enjoy a private tent, a delicious traditional dinner, and an evening gathered around a roaring bonfire, listening to live Berber drum music under a brilliant canopy of stars.

DAY 6: MERZOUGA DESERT → RISSANI → TODRA GORGE → DADES GORGE

Wake up early to catch an unforgettable desert sunrise painting the Erg Chebbi dunes in vibrant colors. After breakfast at the camp, you can choose to return to the village of Merzouga by camel or comfortable 4×4. Rejoining your driver, the journey continues west.

If traveling on a market day (Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday), we will stop to explore the traditional, bustling souk of Rissani. We then drive to the magnificent Todra Gorge, where the Todra River has carved a massive, dramatic canyon with towering red limestone cliffs—a true marvel for nature lovers. After a scenic walk and lunch, the route takes us through Boumalne Dades into the stunning Dades Valley. Along the way, you will marvel at the unique “monkey fingers” rock formations and take in panoramic valley viewpoints before arriving at your hotel in the Dades Gorge for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 7: DADES GORGE → OUARZAZATE → AIT BEN HADDOU → HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS → MARRAKECH

On your final day, we depart the Dades Valley and travel toward Ouarzazate, affectionately known as the “Hollywood of Africa” and the “Gateway to the Desert.” Here, you have the option to visit Atlas Studios, the largest film studio in Morocco, to see where numerous cinematic blockbusters were filmed.

We then proceed to the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. This spectacular fortified clay village is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has served as the backdrop for epic films and shows like “Gladiator” and “Lawrence of Arabia.” You will have ample time to explore its ancient alleyways and intricate architecture.
