DAY 1: TANGIER ⇢ CHEFCHAOUEN

DAY 2: CHEFCHAOUEN ⇢ VOLUBILIS ⇢ MEKNES ⇢ FES
After a delicious breakfast, you will drive through the serene Rif villages toward the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. Here, you’ll step back into the 3rd century to admire remarkably well-preserved mosaics and impressive public buildings. Next, the journey continues to Meknes, Morocco’s 17th-century imperial capital. Following lunch, you will explore the historic medina, marvel at the detailed carvings of the famous Bab el Mansour gate, and visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. The day concludes with a drive to Fes, where you will settle into a charming riad for the night.
DAY 3: GUIDED EXPLORATION OF FES
Today is entirely dedicated to uncovering the deep historical roots of Fes. Your guided tour begins at the majestic gates of the Royal Palace. You will then dive into the labyrinthine alleys of the medieval Medina (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), visiting significant landmarks such as the Al-Qarawiyyin University, Al-Attarine Madrasa, the Nejjarine Fountain, and the iconic Chouara Tanneries. Later, you’ll explore the Mellah (the historic Jewish quarter) to learn about the city’s diverse heritage, and conclude the day at an ancient fortress for breathtaking panoramic views of the Fes skyline. DAY 4: FES → IFRANE → MIDDLE ATLAS MOUNTAINS → ZIZ VALLEY → MERZOUGA DESERT
After breakfast, your journey heads south toward the Sahara. The first stop is the alpine town of Ifrane, followed by a drive through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas Mountains—keep an eye out for wild Barbary apes! After a lunch stop, you will descend through the sprawling palm oases of the lush Ziz Valley. Arriving in Merzouga in the late afternoon, you will trade your vehicle for a camel caravan. Ride across the mesmerizing Erg Chebbi dunes, pausing on a high ridge to watch the sunset, before arriving at your luxury desert camp. Enjoy a sumptuous private-tent dinner followed by a campfire under the stars with traditional Berber drumming.
DAY 5: DESERT DISCOVERY
Rise early to witness a breathtaking Saharan sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, choose a camel ride or a 4×4 transfer back to Merzouga to begin your desert discovery day. You will visit the village of Khamlia to listen to energetic, soulful Gnawa music performed by local musicians. Next, venture off-road to the abandoned village of M’Fis to see the historic galena (kohl) mines. You’ll then visit a nomadic family living in traditional Berber tents in the deep desert, sharing a warm cup of tea and learning about their unique way of life. After lunch, check into a beautiful desert riad to relax by the swimming pool. DAY 6: MERZOUGA DESERT ⇢ RISSANI ⇢ TODRA GORGE ⇢ DADES VALLEY
Following breakfast, the drive heads west. Your first stop is the traditional market town of Rissani (busiest on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays), where you can wander through the lively, aromatic souk. The route then leads to the spectacular Todra Gorge, a natural wonder where the river has carved towering red cliffs—perfect for a scenic walk. Continuing on, you will enter the Dades Valley, stopping to marvel at the fascinating geological rock formations known as the “monkey fingers.” After taking in panoramic views of the rugged cliffs and lush vegetation, you will check into your hotel in the Dades Valley for dinner and an overnight stay.
